Hotene, contrary to their dark appearance, is very shy and doesn't initiate conversations very well. They get flustered easily and apologize often, especially when they don't understand a joke or anything else social. They're very introverted and struggle with social cues anyway, so they prefer to keep to themselves and tend to struggle with making friends. They love painting and are very creative, often using this as their outlet for expression. They are easily drawn to anyone willing to treat them well, and thus tend to be a bit of a hopeless romantic in secret.
Biography:
Growing up autistic, Hotene struggled to emote properly with their face and was generally very blunt. This combined with their race often led to bullying, and they were often subject to names such as "ink monster" and "savage." Nevertheless, their parents always encouraged them not to listen, and said they could do anything they wanted if they put their mind to it.
As a late teen, that anything became modeling. After doing some shoots for someone local as a stand in, Hotene found they were fascinated by the process and wanted to do it more. At first their applications were often rejected due to their unnatural stocking appearance, but they were very persistent and slowly built a portfolio. They had a natural skill, and after signing onto an agency at 20 their talent truly began to blossom.
Hotene brought what was often described as a "dark elegance" to the modeling scene, a silent beauty that was unique to them. This was desirable to photographers and something that really helped to increase their self esteem. However, even as their career became larger and larger, they were very shy and often noted as seeming aloof due to avoided people. Nevertheless, Hotene would eventually meet another model named Irukandji, and fall hopelessly in love with her sunshiney and genuine personality. Thus, they began to branch out, if only to get to know the other.
